It was very difficult to decide which trail to choose this year. For one, we only had a limited amount of holidays but we still wanted to do trail hiking because we so came to love this kind of hiking!
So we leafed through many hiking brochures searching for a short trail easy to reach so that we didn’t lose to many days of travel. Finally – and rather late! – we decided on the Nockberge Trail, a 2019 newly designed trail combining well known routes through the Nockberge region: https://nockberge-trail.com/
Moreover, we could visit some stages from our Alpe Adria Trail again like the Erlacher Haus and will be able to do the traverse from Carinthia to Slovenia (Kranjska Gora) which we missed on the AAT because we chose to do the AAT’s circular route, too.
So, starting on 21st August 2019 we’ll be trail hiking again!
